The Taoyuan Branch of APHIA is responsible for animal and plant health quarantine and meat hygiene jurisdiction over Taoyuan City, Hsinchu City and County and Miaoli County. The Branch includes four Quarantine Stations - Taoyuan Inspection Station, Hsinchu Inspection Station, Taoyuan airport Inspection Station and Guanyin Inspection Station, headquarters is established at Taiwan Taoyuan (Former C.K.S.) International Airport. Therefore, the branch is in charge of the quarantine for import and export of animal, plant and their products as well as those carried by passengers.

     With Taiwan as a member of World Trade Organization (WTO), the trade of agricultural products has increased and people travel between countries more frequently. Meaning the incidences of animal and plant diseases and pests have also increased greatly. Thus diseases and pests prevention and quarantine in import/export has become more important than ever.
