Tourists are banned from bringing any live animals and plants, as well as fresh fruit into Taiwan
A new regulation took effect on Jan. 1, 2007, arrival passengers are not allowed to carry with live animals, plants and fresh fruits, with the exception of dogs, cats, rabbits,  dried and processed marine products and plants that meet the requirements set forth in the statutes for preventing plagues and epidemics.
 
The regulation is designed to safeguard the health of local people, protect the ecological environment, and meet quarantine needs.  The Ministry of Agriculture has installed quarantine bin at appointed places in the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport for tourists to deposit the prohibited animals, plants and fresh fruits.

  1. Dogs, cats, rabbits, and animal products that meet the requirements of Statute for Prevention and Control of Infectious Animal Disease.
  2. Dried and processed marine products.

Living Plants and Fresh Plant Products

Those meet the requirements of Plant Protection and Quarantine Act.
