The division handles inspection and
quarantine for the import and export of plants and plant products, as well as
the establishment and revision of quarantine laws, regulations, and related
measures. It also assists in the promotion of international markets for plant
products.
Another role of the division is to strengthen the monitoring and warning systems and risk analysis for plant quarantine diseases and pests. Furthermore, it develops plant quarantine treatment technologies to facilitate expansion of export markets for plant products. Lastly, it carries out research and development and the introduction of plant quarantine technologies for the promotion of quarantine effectiveness.
